Pupil Premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated by the Department for Education (DfE) to publically funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
In the 2023-2024 financial year, schools will receive Pupil Premium funding for each child registered as eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years. They also receive funding for any child who has been looked after by the local authority or has been adopted from care or left care under a special guardianship order or residence order. Children whose parents are in the armed forces also qualify.
