Let’s celebrate!

I want to take some time to celebrate all of your achievements before we move into a new half term.  You have sent me some fabulous work, photographs and videos whilst you have been completing your home learning and I cannot put into words how proud I am of you! I know that you also really impressed Flora Fairy and Edmund Elf they left me a note to say how proud they were of you all!  They have moved on for a new adventure for now as it’s time for us to embark on a new adventure too but you never know they might pop back to say hello!  We’ve even celebrated someone losing their first tooth and somebody else learning to ride their bike! Congratulations!! It’s been a busy half term.
I have made some collages of some of the work you did and the photos you sent, the first thing I want to share and celebrate is the pictures you made of you! We haven’t been able to be together so what better way for me still see you all than to ask you to draw your lovely smiling faces!

I asked you to make me a rainbow to fill our class page with bright beautiful rainbows wow you did not disappoint! Every time a gorgeous rainbow dropped into my Purple Mash account you made my smile bigger and bigger so thank you so much Year 1!

Finally I want to share with you some collages I made of your photographs that you sent to me.  You have made me so happy and so proud to say I am your teacher.  You have completed your work brilliantly and have done lots of lovely extra things that I have loved seeing!  So thank you for working so hard and thank you to your lovely families for supporting you!

We love to read!

Rida the bear has spent the last two weeks in Year 1 because we have been doing so much reading at home! He has enjoyed our book corner and we have enjoyed reading him stories.  Some members of Year 1 have enjoyed writing stories and making books for him to read!

Frozen Planet!

Our topic this half term is Frozen Planet.  We will explore icy regions and compare these places to where we live.  We will look at the where these places are on the map and the transport we would need to get to them and around them.

Our homework pojects

We love Science!

We carried out a water proofing experiment.  Micky Mouse needed our help.  His umbrella had a hole in it and he didn’t know which material would be the best one to fix it with.  We made predictions before we started with our friends over which one we though would be the best one for him to use.  We enjoyed finding out in our groups which materials would be waterproof and them deciding which one would be best for him to use.

Maths is all around us!

Over half term we were set the challenge to see where in the world we could see Maths.  Year 1 made a fantastic effort with their homework and they thoroughly enjoyed sharing it with the rest of the children in their class!

We enjoyed sharing our chosen word for World Book Day with the rest of the children in our class we have learnt lots of new words from discussing each other’s costumes we have had a great day!
