Phonics and Reading

Please continue to read daily and share a variety of books.  Please use book you have at home too as well as the books that are online.

Read Write Inc sessions continue on the link previously provided.

For English this week I am giving you a fabulous pirate talk for writing unit.  This is a special unit that is written especially for home learning so that your grown ups will be able to help you.  It gives excellent instructions on each page for each activity.  This booklet should take longer than just this week to complete, so please do not feel it has to be completed before the end of this week.  Have fun and enjoy!

For you topic work this week i would like you to share the famous pirates powerpoint with your grown ups at home.  Then I would like you to do some research about one of the famous priates that is in the powerpoint.  I would like you to use your research to make a piece of work about the pirate.  You can choose how to display your work, you could do it as a poster, a leaflet, a fact file (just like the elephant factfile you have already done in earlier home learning).  As always I would love you to get in touch with me on Purple Mash and share your work with me!

They have arrived!  As promised on my Purple Mash email here are the caterpillars!  I have taken a photograph and a video of day 1.  I have added to this page a caterpillar diary.  I would love you to follow the journey the caterpillars with myself, Phoebe and Oscar and keep a diary, draw pictures and tell me what you think!  I will add more pictures and videos as the week goes on, so please continue to check the page for updates as you will have to update your diary.  Below I have also added another pirate investigation this week waterproof ships.  Have fun!
