Summer Term
We have another very exciting half term ahead in Reception! Now the dark mornings have finally disappeared and we can enjoy the beautiful Spring sunshine, we will continue to observe the changes in the world around us. Our topic this half term is all about growing. We will start with learning how plants and flowers grow and where we get our food from. We might even try to grow our own beanstalk! We are sure that this will provide the children with endless writing opportunities.
Partnership with parents
In Reception we value your contribution to your child's learning. We would love to hear all about your children's achievements outside of school, from getting a medal at football to learning to ride their bike! Use our WOW vouchers and send them in with your child, we will celebrate their WOW and display it on our WOW wall for all to see!
If there is anything you need to discuss with a member of the Reception Team we will be available before and after school. Please do not hesitate to speak to us.
Please read with your child at home and record any comments for us in their reading diary. Homework will be sent home on a Friday - please return it to school by Tuesday the following week.
Outdoor Play in Reception
In Reception the children have access to continuous outdoor provision everyday. The children thoroughly enjoy each experience they are offered from building with crates and planks to creating a den with their friends. Our activities outside encourage team work, co-operative play, problem solving and creativity. The children are offered many opportunities to develop their Literacy and Numeracy skills throughout the areas outside.
