Welcome to Nursery
Nursery Acting Teacher: Miss Maddox
Teaching Assistants: Mrs Dutton & Miss Bayliff
Welcome back to our little ‘Super stars’ and to our new stars! We have lots of exciting activities in store this term. Our new topic is ‘Winter’ and we are going to be talking a lot about cold places, weather and polar animals. The children will be thinking about their own winter experiences and how it has affected them.
As it is the stormy wet season, please ensure your child has a spare set of clothes on their peg. Velcro shoes instead of laces, are a MASSIVE help.
Home / School Sharing Journals – these were a great success thanks to the super support of the parents and the enthusiasm of the children! The class loved hearing each other’s home stories, about places they had visited, and seeing fantastic photos and pictures that their friends had drawn in the journals. There were some wonderful examples of early writing in them too. Remember initial writing attempts often look like squiggles. Grown-ups can write underneath what it ‘says’, to let us know.
- Wednesday alternates ‘messy mark making’ or ‘come and share a book’ with your child.
From 8:45 – 9:00 or 3:00 – 3:15
- Thank you to those who have already paid snack money. A voluntary contribution of £6 this term is welcomed.

Have you been to a ‘Dough Disco’?!?
It’s very funny and helps us strengthen our shoulders, arms and fingers so that we can use a pencil properly. We love making our dough together and seeing the mixture change.
Are your fingers strong enough to squeeze the dough and make holes in it? Let us know how you get on!
This is the video we used, so you can have a disco at home too!
