Last term was focused around Pets and Vets following an interest in dogs that a large number of the children had. We had a role-play Vet Centre which has now progressed into a Dog Grooming Salon.
We were lucky enough to have visits from Olive's pet guinea pigs- Lulu and Gogo. The children loved the first hand opportunity to see, hold and feed a small animal. We also had a visit from an African Pygmy Hedgehog and learned all about the care that it requires.
The Police theme remained popular and we were able to organize a visit from the local Community Police Officers. The children learned all about their uniform, equipment and different types of transport they use as well as getting to dress up as Police.
Our ‘Everywhere Bear’ has had lots of fun going home with children so far, so thank you for your support with this. He will continue to make his visits so please take good care of him and return him on the appropriate day.
We will also be sending Story sacks home with the children for 1 night only. These are to support your book sharing experiences with your child.
