Our learning:

Our topic this term is 'The Roman Empire'.

As historians we will be studying life in Roman Times. We will continue to develop a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of British, local and world history. •We will note connections, contrasts and trends over time and develop the appropriate use of historical terms. We will learn to understand how our knowledge of the past is constructed from a range of sources.

As geographers we will be studying the continents and oceans of the world. We will focus on Europe, Italy and identify the spread of the Roman Empire. We will research how the invasions effected England.

As artists we will be studying  Roman sculptures. We will develop our art work, where we will consider the work of roman pottery designers and roman mosaic artists.

As designers we will be studying the design of roman pots. We will look carefully at the designs and then make our very own roman pots.

As musicians we will be studying a song about Roman life. We will develop our sense of beat and rhythm through Roman soldier marching music. We will develop our knowledge of the musical elements in descriptive music through the topic of the Roman Gods and Goddesses.
