Local Area Study Trip To Southport

Today children in Year 5 enjoyed a fantastic, but very windy, day learning about the history of Southport. The children firstly enjoyed looking around The Atkinson at some of the displays and dressing up in outfits from the past! They then looked at the designs of some of the buildings along Lord Street and compared them to how they looked in the past. After looking along Lord Street the children made their way up Neville Street to shelter behind the statue of Queen Victoria and found out that there was a road underneath them! Before heading back to the Eco Centre, they visited Kings Gardens and compared and contrasted the images of the past to how it looks now. At the Eco Centre children made animations displaying what they had learnt in the morning.

Thank you to Darren at the Eco Centre for a wonderful day as usual!
