Last night, children from years 4, 5 and 6 competed in an indoor 5 a side tournament at Stanley High School. The tournament used an indoor futsal ball for the first time, the ball famously used by the Spanish and Brazilians to encourage a more free flowing, passing game.
In the first game, Kings Meadow ran out 4-1 winners with a comprehensive display of teamwork and clinical finishing. The second game was very close, with chances at both ends, but unfortunately Kings Meadow suffered a 1-0 defeat. In the final game Kings Meadow went behind but showed great determination to come back to win 3-1.
For Kings Meadow to qualify for the final it came down to the last game involving two of the other schools. Unfortunately, the result did not go our way and therefore Kings Meadow were eliminated, but finished a very respectable 2nd place.
Well done boys!
